Father’s Day Donations

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…

I was going to do a special for Father’s Day weekend. I love celebrating families. But right now, our government is ripping apart families and housing innocent children in cages, alone and terrified. As a proud father, I can’t imagine the fear and heartache the parents are feeling, and the terror the children are experiencing.

It’s not right. I’m an immigrant. My family came here seeking economic improvements. My wife’s family were refugees who had a perilous journey here, but were accepted. I believe America is better because we, and millions of other immigrants, are here. The families being torn apart at the border are fleeing war and poverty and strife to seek the opportunity you and I are already lucky enough to already be living. They wouldn’t be undertaking a perilous journey like that if they didn’t believe they must, that that long dangerous journey wasn’t the best option they had. Yes, it is illegal. I understand that. But tearing apart families is ugly, evil and immoral.

America can and should do better.

Instead of doing a Father’s day special, I will be donating 15% of all sales this weekend to a legal defense fund fighting to reunite these families. Celebrate with your family this weekend. Family should be celebrated at every opportunity.
Enjoy the weekend.
But keep those families torn apart in your hearts and minds. Speak out. Call Congress. We can and must do better.
